Former presidential candidate Oby Ezekwesili has threatened to sue Twitter influencer Japheth Omojuwa over the unapproved use of her name as director of Alpha Reach Limited.
Mrs Ezekwesili made this known through a letter written by her lawyers Falana and Falana Chambers, in which she also demanded full disclosure and public apology
The company linked to Omojuwa and incorporated in 2012 also has Damilola Ogunleye, Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai and Omojuwa as directors.
In a letter addressed to Omojuwa, dated April 9 and also published on Twitter, Ezekwesili demanded clarification, saying “That you never sought for her consent and/or participation in incorporating any company whatsoever and for any purpose whatsoever.”
The former presidential candidate and ex-minister of education said her lawyers had also written to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to demand explanation.
She wrote the following as caption in publishing the letter:”On the strange matter of being listed as a director of Alpha Reach @cacnigeria1, here’s the letter of my lawyers, Falana and Falana Chambers to @Omojuwa for explanation and public apology. The lawyers have also requested information from CAC on this anomaly.”
Ezekwesili’s son Chuba also commented on the trending matter, tweeting: “Turns out someone can list you as a director of a company without your knowledge or consent. Lol.
“How far @cacnigeria1? How are you letting people use the names of high profile individuals fraudulently and without due diligence?”
Ezekwesili said she got wind of the matter after a researcher Rosemary Ajayi called her attention to it.
