Former presidential candidate Oby Ezekwesili on Thursday mourned Dare Adeboye son of the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Enoch Adeboye who died on Wednesday.
The news of Dare’s demise has shaken the various Christian bodies in Nigeria.
In a tweet, Mrs Ezekwesili, who is married to Pastor Chinedu Ezekwesili of the RCCG, quoted Isaiah 57:1, saying the godly often die before their time.
“This cuts hard, Pastor @DareAdeboye. We find comfort in the word of God,” she wrote.
“Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. Isaiah 57:1.”
A source told PUNCH that Dare did not complain of any illness prior to his death.
“He was not sick and did not complain of anything before the incident. Pastors in the church were summoned to pray for him, all to no avail,” the source said.
Dare was married to Temiloluwa and they have several children.
