Falcao: January exit looms for Chelsea flop

Falcao

FalcaoJose Mourinho was meant to show his prowess by reinvigorating Radamel Falcao this season. Instead, it appears the Colombian could be able to leave Stamford Bridge in January due to his minimal influence so far this season.

The 29-year-old was available for selection against Aston Villa, but not included in the squad, and the Mirror suggests he is becoming concerned about the implications for his national team spot.

It is well reported that Barcelona are on the lookout for an experienced forward to play fourth fiddle in their strikers’ pecking order. But given Falcao is already on loan from Monaco, it would make it a difficult move to manoeuvre.

Meanwhile, while Eden Hazard was axed by Mourinho, he retained faith in new man Pedro, who has revealed he has found it tricky to acclimatise.

“It’s hard. It’s very different to what I’m used to [at Barcelona].

“But, little by little, I’m integrating more, adapting with my teammates and the team and that’s the most important thing.

“Everything is different, very different to the football I’m used to. I think there are a lot of differences, very physical football, very strong.

“A lot of players attack and it’s always complicated. All the games are competitive and very balanced.”

Mourinho came to the defence of another one of his attackers yet again on the weekend, questioning why Diego Costa doesn’t get protection and hinting double standards are at play.

The Spaniard was goaded a couple of times on his return from suspension, the clearest example being when he tangled with Ashley Westwood on the turf.

“I’m pleased he didn’t react, but I would be even happier if the people who find his hypothetical or real negative moments were honest the other way and show and show and show,” Mourinho said.

“He will be targeted until the moment people point the finger at them and show the images, re-show the images and have the top pundits speaking about it.”
