New signing, Alexandre Pato, has been included in the Chelsea squad for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.
The Brazilian striker joined the Blues from Corinthians last week on a six-month loan deal, with the Premier League side having the option to sign him permanently in the summer.
Pato’s inclusion has come at the expense of fellow loanee, Radamel Falcao, who has struggled for form and fitness since he joined the Londoners from Monaco in August.
The 29-year-old has bagged just one Premier League goal while on loan at Stamford Bridge, with injuries meaning he has endured an even more miserable spell than he did at Manchester United last term.
Jiangsu Suning are the side most heavily linked with Falcao and the Chinese club, managed by ex-Blue Dan Petrescu, have already raided Chelsea for Ramires.
Guus Hiddink’s men are due to face Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of Europe’s premier club competition.
