Entertainer and social crusader, Falz the Bahd Guy, has reacted to the alleged rape of a young women by two men in Lekki, Lagos.
The 28-year-old musician responded to the controversial case in a series of tweets on Friday.
Falz said that the Nigerian legal system makes it a possibility for people to get away with despicable crimes like rape.
“Everyone in a position of influence should do all they can to ensure this isn’t another case swept under the carpet because someone used “long leg” to jump above the law.
“Do not remain mute. This doesn’t have to happen to your sister or family member before you react! #JusticeForRapeInNigeria,” he wrote in one of the tweets.
Don-Chima Enyinnaya George and Olusegun Rasak were arrested earlier in the week and arraigned in court on Wednesday over allegation that they drugged and raped a 23-year-old in a hotel in the Lekki area of Lagos.
They were said to have recorded the act on mobile phone.
Users of Twitter dragged Falz into the rape controversy arguing that he should speak out for the raped person.
The case reignited the campaign against sexual violence against women, with the hashtag #JusticeForRapeInNigeria trending on social media.
