Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan has accused rapper Falz of attempting to bait and set him up during a heated phone conversation.

In a video shared on his Instagram on Thursday, VeryDarkMan disclosed that Afrobeats artiste Seun Kuti had unexpectedly encouraged him to speak directly with Falz to clarify the rapper’s involvement in a controversial scandal with crossdresser Bobrisky.

According to VeryDarkMan, Falz expressed his frustration during the call over the escalating social media drama, admitting that it had taken a toll on him.

The influencer alleged that Falz tried to record their conversation to gather evidence for a potential court case against him.

“At a point in the conversation, I felt like Falz was recording me,” VeryDarkMan stated.

“I said, ‘Falz, I feel like you are recording me. I feel like you are trying to get evidence from me or make me say something so that you can hold it against me.’ When I said this, he could not deny it.”

VeryDarkMan further revealed that Falz questioned him about any damaging rumours he might have heard regarding the rapper’s family, particularly his father, the renowned lawyer Femi Falana.

While VeryDarkMan confirmed he hadn’t heard anything negative about Falana, he chose not to comment on the rumours surrounding Falz himself.

Recently, VeryDarkMan posted a leaked audio recording on Instagram in which Bobrisky accused Falz and his father, Mr. Falana, of contacting him while he was serving a six-month prison sentence for abuse of the naira, offering help in securing a ‘presidential pardon.’

In response to these allegations, Falz released a statement demanding that VeryDarkMan retract his “defamatory” statements within 24 hours or face legal action.

VeryDarkMan, through his lawyer Deji Adeyanju, responded by expressing his respect for Femi Falana and maintaining that he had not defamed him.
