A former governorship candidate in Imo State Emmanuel Ojinere has died, the family announced on Friday.
A statement signed on behalf of the family by the deceased’s son Jeffrey Ojinere said Mr Ojinere died after a brief illness.
“With total submission to the will of GOD, we the OJINERE family of Umuchieze Ihitteaforukwu Ekwereazu Ahiazu Mbaise Imo State, announce the sudden demise of our Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle, Chief Engr. Emmanuel Umunnakwe Ojinere (Akajiugo Mbaise) after a brief illness.
“We solicit for prayers at this trying time, and pray that GOD in his infinite mercy, grant his peaceful soul eternal rest in his kingdom.
“Meanwhile, tributes and messages can be sent to EmmaOjinereLivesOn@gmail.com,” the statement read.
The family said the burial date would be communicated in due time.
