The family of Babatunde Dada, a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) FESTAC Town, Lagos who was recently killed, has called on the police to find the killers.
Two youths who attended the church for the first time on November 28 and were accommodated on the church’s premises are believed to have carried out the act.
Reports say the young converts allegedly stabbed Dada to death on December 2 after he had just returned from withdrawing money from a bank being the church’s accountant.
A spokesman for the family Abolarinwa Olatunbosun told PUNCH that the police had started well by arresting one of the suspects.
He said, “We want to know why he was killed. Maybe somebody invited the so-called converts to carry out the killing or they just came on their own to end his life.”
Lagos police spokesperson Adekunle Ajisebutu told the newspaper that arrests have been made and refused to disclose details.
“Some arrests have been made. We are making progress in the case,” he said.
