Fani-Kayode attacks church leaders over TB Joshua

Femi Fani-Kayode

Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has attacked church leaders in the country who criticise the founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Temitope Joshua, popularly known as TB Joshua.

Mr Fani-Kayode wrote on Twitter on Thursday saying that the greatest threat to the church today was from within.

He listed rivalry, pettiness, envy, jealousy, and deceit as some of the vices among church leaders.

The 59-year-old named TB Joshua as one of the church leaders that engage in charitable works, adding that he was surprised that some church leaders still “choose to speak ill” of the televangelist.

“The greatest threat to the Church today is the threat from within. Rivalry, pettiness, envy, jealousy and deceit amongst church leaders is our greatest weakness. How many church leaders do as much for the poor as T.B. Joshua yet some of them still choose to speak ill of him?” he asked.

“It is not about building big churches and universities, having massive congregations and buying private jets. It is about encouraging, empowering, inspiring, helping and supporting the poor, the weak, the vulnerable, the rejected, the dejected, the wretched and the afflicted.”
