Former beauty queen Precious Chikwendu on Tuesday called out her estranged husband and former minister of aviation Femi Fani-Kayode for allegedly keeping her children away from her.
According to a petition filed in March, Ms Chikwendu who had four boys with Mr Fani-Kayode had been separated from the children since August 2, 2020.
With pictures of herself and the boys, she however appeared to appeal to Fani-Kayode’s soft side in an Instagram post.
“Denying these adorable ones their rights to their mother who is very alive, hale and sane, contrary to what you would like to portray so badly says a lot. It is not about you or I? As we are adults who would both live out our time and be gone . These amazing ones, have a full life ahead and you shape them like this? If this is all about pinching me into hurting, you’ve lost already,” she wrote.
Chikwendu also alleged that Fani-Kayode had released the children to attend school after a year.
“I hear you finally let them go to school after one year because I came at you on that . Nice! Now what would you tell them when their mates raises conversations about their mother during family tree classes? It indeed is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Do you have a soul?” she asked.
Chikwendu is seeking custody of the four children produced by the marriage, “but with reasonable right of access granted to the respondent (Fani-Kayode),” according to a suit she filed at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Apo, Abuja.
She is also praying the court to restrain Fani-Kayode and his agents “from forcibly abducting” the children from her custody, and that the court should order the ex-minister to pay her N3.438million monthly for the upkeep of the children and additional sums for their education and other ancillary expenses.
