Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has paid tributes to his mother, Adia Adunni Fani-Kayode, 19 years after she passed on.
In a post on Instagram on Monday, Mr Fani-Kayode said he learnt the virtues of faith and courage in the face of adversity from his late mother.
He also thanked her for raising him in the Christian way.
“My beautiful mother, Chief (Mrs.) Adia Aduni Fani-Kayode. Not one day passes that I do not remember you or think about you. You were my life and you still live on in my heart and in the hearts of all your loved ones and those you showed so much love and kindness to,” he wrote.
“…I learnt the virtues of faith and courage, even in the face of challenges and adversity, from you and I have held fast to them ever since. I also learnt about the power of compassion and mercy from you. You were simply an angel and far too good for this world and this is why the Lord continues to bless your legacy every day.”
The former minister also said her 12 grandchildren were doing well.
Fani-Kayode’s mother died in 2001. His father, Remi Fani-Kayode, was a politician and lawyer.
The elder Fani-Kayode was elected deputy premier of the defunct Western Region of Nigeria in 1963. He died in October 1995 in the UK.
