Former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode has shared an old video of one of the good times he had with his now estranged wife Precious Chikwendu.
Mr Fani-Kayode shared the video on Instagram on Monday with the caption, “Once upon a time.”
In the video, Chikwendu is seen sitting next to the ex-minister. The occasion was a surprise birthday party put together in honour of Fani-Kayode.
Chikwendu, a former beauty queen, said in the video that the first day she came into Fani-Kayode’s house, she met a former governor in the south-east whom she didn’t want to meet, adding that she initially took the former minister to be a talkative.
“I saw you (Fani-Kayode) from a different angle. I saw you as somebody that talks a lot. And I didn’t think I wanted to end up with someone that talks like that. Even when you were still toasting (wooing) me, we would talk and talk, then I’d get angry and not pick your calls,” she said.
She further said she was uncertain about the relationship initially and was afraid she was going to marry someone who was like her father’s age mate.
Chikwendu also said she got attracted to the ex-minister because he would not let her go whenever she threatened to leave the union out of anger.
“In this case, if I say I’m going, he’s going to lock the door literally and say ‘You’re not going anywhere,'” she said.
At the end of her speech, Fani-Kayode heaped praises on her, lamenting that a close friend of his was arrested on the same day by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
News of trouble in Fani-Kayode’s union with Chikwendu broke last year.
The ex-beauty queen has dragged the former minister to court seeking custody of their four boys whom she says have been separated from her since August 2020.
