HKN artiste, Mayorkun, has earned knocks from some of his fans after claiming he rented out a cinema hall to see the movie, Banana Island Ghost, all by himself.
The 23-year-old ‘Mama’ singer uploaded a photo of him sitting alone in an empty cinema hall to Instagram on Sunday, boasting, “Rented out the whole cinema just to watch ‘Banana Island Ghost’”.
Producers of the movie reposted the picture on Instagram, urging others to “Take your squad!”
Fans were, however, not happy about the singer’s decision to watch the movie alone.
Some Instagram users said he should have invited some of his fans, while others said he was lying.
Critics pointed at some empty bottles in the hall to suggest he only stayed behind to take pictures after others had left.
Co-produced by Biola Alabi Media (BAM) and Nemsia Films, Banana Island Ghost is one of the most-anticipated Nollywood movies of the year.
It features the likes of Chioma ‘Chigul’ Omeruah, Ali Nuhu, Tomiwa Edun, Saidi Balogun and Lala Akindoju.
Mayorkun and Phyno worked together on the soundtrack of the movie.
