D’banj’s wife, Lineo, was said to have been at home when the tragic incident occurred.
The sad incident happened one month after the boy named Daniel celebrated his first birthday.
Fans responded by commiserating with the singer on Twitter and other social media platforms.
Below are some of the tweets:
Woke up to the heartbreaking news of Dbanj losing his 1-yr old Son. Burying a Parent is sad, but the pain of burying a Child is unfathomable. May God grant Him & his Wife Didi the fortitude to bear this immeasurable loss. 😢

It’s a fact that many of these social media users come from sad home, but please stay away from Dbanj and his wife during this trying time. How can you be so stupid to be mocking a parent over the loss of their child? I feel heartbroken to have read comments on Instablog today 💔

You can easily fall in love with a kid by just their smile in a very short period of time. Imagine the bond and love that must have been between Dbanj and his first child for more than a year.
It’s extremely sad. I pray God gives the family the strength to bear this loss.

See the holy, perfect Nigerians come out to critic dbanj and his wife, when they don’t have kids and have never had to look after a kid.
Children explore their environment whether you like it or not, that safety you put in place is just another obstacle to overcome.

Nigerians are worse people than we like to believe. The comments in that Instabkog post of DBanj’s loss are heart-wrenching. We are a terrible evil bunch of people.

I feel sick to my stomach about Dbanj and his wife losing their 1 yr old son. I can’t even begin to understand what they are feeling now. Please God help them, comfort them, strengthen them.
Shield them from those who want to judge and say terrible things about them.
