Fatima Ganduje-Ajimobi, daughter of Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has hit back at her father’s critics on Twitter, saying he is one of few elected officials who have implemented projects.
Fatima who is married to Idris Ajimobi son of the late ex-governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi tweeted this on Sunday.
“I am from Kano state and Oyo state and no matter what you say or think of Ganduje, he is one of the few elected officers who are actually implementing projects. Don’t argue with me, don’t waste your data, just go to KANO STATE and see for yourself,” she wrote.
“The truth is, as Nigerians we should only consider work on ground. No one should say sh*t about Ganduje unless you have done equal or more work. Simple. He is not from Edo and kano as a state is above many.”
Fatima’s statement came amid criticism which followed her father’s unsuccessful stint as head of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national campaign council for Edo governorship election.
The APC’s candidate Osagie Ize-Iyamu lost the election to the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ganduje’s appointment at the time was greeted with disdain by many with memories of the 2018 video recordings which saw him stuff chunks of dollar notes as kickbacks from contractors still fresh in the public’s mind.
