Lagos health commissioner Akin Abayomi has become the first person to receive the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine jab in the state.
Prof Abayomi simply tweeted on Friday: “Receiving my #COVID19 Vaccine now!”
The commissioner said he did not feel any pain during the injection.
“My experience as the first person to be vaccinated in Lagos; no pain and no panic, I am proud to announce that I am now a legitimate owner of the #COVID19 vaccination certificate,” he said.
Meanwhile, federal authorities have said the vaccination would continue after some countries halted the process in the wake of concerns over blood clotting.
The World Health Organisation has reassured the concerned nations that the vaccines are safe.
