Outgoing Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has threatened to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), The PUNCH is reporting.
The threat comes days after the party’s national convention in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to the newspaper, the governor hinted that he would renounce his “membership of the PDP anytime from now.”
He added, “After consultations, I will speak clearly to Nigerians.”
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was declared the winner of the party’s presidential primary, defeating Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, and Senate President Bukola Saraki, to second and third positions respectively.
