Former governor of Ekiti State Ayo Fayose has undergone a back surgery in an undisclosed hospital outside the country.
His media aide Lere Olayinka said in a Facebook post on Wednesday that the surgery was necessary because Fayose suffered attack during the 2018 Ekiti governorship election.
Mr Olayinka further said this is Fayose’s second surgical operation in five months. According to him, the first happened in February.
“Fayose did two surgical operations in five months. Two major surgical operations within five months,” said Olayinka.
“One in February (Neck) and another one now (back). Results of the attack on him during the 2018 Ekiti governorship election. It can only be God. Soonest recovery Osokomole”.
A video of a weak Fayose being helped by medics has since gone viral.
This is coming days after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was discharged from Duchess International Hospital in Lagos where he underwent a surgery on his right femur (thigh bone).
