Former governor of Ekiti State Ayo Fayose on Wednesday visited an Amala restaurant after picking the presidential nomination and expression of interest forms of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Fayose arrived at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja around noon to purchase the N40 million forms.
The ex-governor, whose mantra is ‘stomach infrastructure’, recently quit the PDP zoning committee to contest the party’s presidential ticket.
Speaking on Channels TV Politics Today show on Wednesday, Fayose said, “If I walk through the street, you would know my street credibility. If I go to the east, north, west, everywhere, people love me…today, after picking my form (presidential), I went to Iya Oyo to eat Amala and pomo.”
The opposition party will hold its presidential primary on May 28 and 29, 2022.
Among those who have picked their forms in the PDP are former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki and Anyim Pius Anyim, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, media mogul Dele Momodu, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, and former governor Peter Obi.
