Actor Femi Adebayo has announced a philanthropic initiative aimed at bringing joy to Muslim families as the celebration of Ileya, also known as Eid-el-Kabir, draws near.

Taking to his Instagram page recently, Femi shared a video revealing his plans to distribute rams free of charge to children in the spirit of the festive season.

Against the backdrop of economic challenges facing the nation, Femi’s act of kindness stands out.

Surrounded by rams in a spacious compound, the actor explained the initiative, saying, “It’s another Femi Adebayo Ileya giveaway, and as you know, children between the ages of 7 and 12 will have the opportunity to win one of these rams.”

To participate, children are required to recite the last two verses of “Surat Al-Baqarah”.

Femi highlighted that the entries demonstrating the best recitations would be shortlisted by 6 pm on June 11, with the winners announced by 6 pm on June 12.

This giveaway aligns with the announcement by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, that Eid-el-Kabir will be celebrated on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Since the video was posted on June 9, Adebayo has shared numerous videos of children participating in the giveaway. To date, over 26 children have submitted their entries, showcasing their recitation skills. The initiative has been warmly received, reflecting the filmmaker’s commitment to promoting Islamic values among the younger generation.

The video’s caption reads: “My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, it’s another #FemiAdebayoIleyaGiveAway and as you know, we always try to encourage good Islamic values among our children this season. Here’s how to qualify and be the lucky winner of One Big Ram to celebrate this Ileya with your family. Children between the ages of 7 & 12 should recite the last two verses of Surat Al-Baqarah and send in their entries using the #FemiAdebayoIleyaGiveAway2024.”
