Actor Femi Adebayo has celebrated a major win as his Netflix Original Yoruba movie Jagun Jagun scooped five awards at the 2024 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.
Femi shared the news with his followers on Instagram on Monday, expressing gratitude for the recognition.
He wrote, “Elated to announce JAGUN JAGUN (The WARRIOR) – a Netflix Original movie, won five awards at the 2024 BON AWARDS.”
In his post, Femi acknowledged the efforts of everyone involved in the film saying, “Congratulations to us all. Truly Blessed to experience this amount of recognition, and I’m proud of the work we put in while creating this project.
“My appreciation goes to @bon__awards for the recognition, my ever-supportive family, and the vibrant JAGUN JAGUN team for challenging me to deliver on the promise of this project. We did it again Guys, and we’re going to the next level on the next one insha Allah.”
The film claimed awards in five categories, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Art Direction, Best Special Effect and Best Costume.
The 16th edition of the BON Award hosted by actress Toyin Abraham took place Sunday night at the Sugar Factory Film Studios in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Jagun Jagun stood out with nominations in 12 categories.
Earlier in November, Jagun Jagun also made waves at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), where it picked up three awards, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Achievement in Makeup, and Achievement in Visual Effects.
