Nollywood actor Femi Jacobs on Friday sent a cryptic message following backlash at his colleague Desmond Elliot who blamed youth restiveness on social media.
In an Instagram post, Femi quoted 1 John 2:19 in the Bible, appearing to mean that Desmond who was once an actor was never truly a part of the industry.
In another post, Femi shared a screenshot of Davido’s old tweet where the latter was begging hoodlums who tried to disrupt the peaceful #EndSARS protest to stop.
“Are these the ‘influencers’ they claim are inciting the public? Lord have mercy!” the actor wrote.
On Thursday, a video of Desmond lamenting the use of social media during plenary at the Lagos State House of Assembly went viral.
Toyin Abraham, Davido, Peruzzi, Erigga and others have rebuked Desmond for his comments. The actor-turned-politician has since apologised.
