Afrobeat singer Femi Kuti has bagged his sixth Grammy nomination for Best Global Music Album and Best Global Music Performance with his son Made Kuti.
The organisers of the awards made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday.
Femi was nominated alongside Made Kuti for the album Legacy+.
The 59-year-old took to Instagram to express his excitement over the nominations and congratulate his fellow nominees.
“My Son @madekuti and I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that voted/ nominated #Legacy+.
Congratulations to all the others nominees,” he wrote.
Femi Kuti has been nominated four times for best album and best contemporary music categories.
Unfortunately the afrobeat star has not won any.
This would be his sixth nomination.
The Grammy Awards ceremony will hold in February 2022.
