Afrobeat star Femi Kuti has led his siblings in celebrating their sister Yeni Kuti who turned 63 on Friday, May 24.
Femi, 61, prayed in an Instagram post that Yeni would continue to be protected.
“HBD LLNP YK Power @yeniakuti biggest Sister sending best wishes and love to you always. As we celebrate another year with you, I pray our Creator and our Ancestors continue to guide and protect you always,” he wrote.
Motunrayo Kuti-Bakare described her in her post as “the most beautiful human soul and heart” she had ever known.
“Happy birthday Sis Yeni mi. We the Bakare’s love you,” she added.
Kunle Kuti posted a throwback photo of Yeni and also newer photos on Instagram.
He captioned them, “I wish you a birthday as perfect as you and age is nothing but a number. Hoping your day is as special as you. Happy birthday, sis.”
Femi’s ex-wife Funke also celebrated Yeni.
She said, “Happy birthday to a woman who slays every day! May your special day be filled with love, laughter, and all your heart’s desires.
“Here’s to many more years of living life to the fullest, sharing your wisdom, and inspiring others with your grace and strength!”
Femi’s son Made described her as an incredible pillar.
“WMD! Happy Birthday Aunty YK! Thank you for being such an incredible pillar! We love you,” he wrote.
The family’s legacy Afrika Shrine labelled Yeni on Instagram as Afrobeat queen, yeye oge and an amazon.
