Afrobeat star Femi Kuti worshipped at the New Afrika Shrine on his return from a music tour in the United Kingdom.
A video of Femi Kuti and his team worshipping at the altar was posted on Instagram on Monday, August 22.
In the video, the 60-year-old is seen bowing down and giving thanks as he prayed to his ancestors.
The shrine was decorated with statues, lights and pictures, with names of Yoruba gods like Osun, Obatala, Esu, Orunmila, Sango, Oya and Ogun hung on the wall.
“THE KING OF AFROBEAT IS BACK,” the management of the shrine captioned the video.
Femi and the Positive Force Band traveled to the UK on August 18, days after Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi paid him a visit.
In June and July 2022, Femi performed at 31 shows in the United States and Canada for six weeks.
The Grammy nominee was warmly received by his family and fans who organised a surprise birthday party and gifted him a brand new car on his return to Nigeria from his last music tour.
