Nigeria’s Super Eagles retained its place in the latest FIFA World Rankings released on Thursday.
Gernot Rohr’s side maintained their 51st rank in the world and ninth position on the continent.
The Eagles’ rating is not entirely surprising, having been idle for the last one month.
Germany, meanwhile, remains at the summit of a static top 10, with Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup foes, Argentina, placed third.
But Iceland, another nation the Eagles will face in Russia, are the only team to enter the top 20.
The petite European side climbed two spots from 22.
Nigeria’s first opponent at the Mundial, Croatia, similarly made some ground, climbing two spots to 16th.
Fellow African nation, Tunisia (up 77), was the highest movers by points while Kuwait (up 15) was the highest climbers in terms of position.
The next edition will be published on February 15.
