Filmmaker Otu Njama has died hours after mourning fellow filmmaker Biyi Bandele whose death was announced on Monday night.
Media personality Shaibu Hussieni announced this in a Facebook post on Wednesday August 10.
He wrote: “He sent me a formal invitation for his much anticipated ‘Sweet Mother Concert’ yesterday and followed it up with a call for my attendance and coverage of the event at 1pm yesterday.
“The show holds tomorrow but this morning we heard that the filmmaker of ‘Inhibition’ fame Otu Njama is DEAD! ’02’, in his early thirties reportedly died early today.
“Shocking…. TRAGIC and devastating! To know that he joined us yesterday to pay tribute to Biyi yesterday on the elite WhatsApp platform for creatives FILMIC! Kai!!! Journey well Otu Njama! You were too good to die! Safe bro! Lord please put an end to this foul spirit of untimely death… Yesterday it was Biyi Bandele and today it is Otu! This is too much to bear Lord!! Please have mercy.”
According to reports, Otu was found dead at his residence in Badore, Ajah, Lagos State.
His sister Judith revealed that a drug was found in his apartment and a check on google showed it was for blood pressure. She stated that her brother never told her about his health issues.
The late filmmaker celebrated his 36th birthday on November 14, 2021.
Otu worked with celebrities like Juliet Ibrahim, Mr Macaroni, Mercy Eke, Keppy Bassey and Alexx Ekubo and Charly Boy.
Otu produced and directed the hit movie Inhibition in 2019. He also produced the TV series One Night Stand.
