Assistant coach of the Super Eagles Finidi George has come under criticism on social media following a mild drama in Lisbon on Thursday night.
After Nigeria’s 4-0 loss to Portugal in what was a World Cup warm-up match for the European nation, George contested Portuguese defender Pepe’s jersey with Moses Simon.
As a post-game ritual, players exchange jerseys – which was what Simon and Pepe were about doing when George was seen asking to get the jersey instead.
George was clearly unhappy as Simon beat him to the jersey.
Two goals in each half wrapped up a commading display for the Euro 2016 Champions.
Nigerians on social media have knocked George for not showing empathy despite the team’s heavy loss.
