A blaze engulfed a dormitory at the youth team training centre of Brazilian giants, Flamengo on Friday, killing 10 people.
Six players and four members of staff are among the deceased.
At least three others were seriously injured and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Henaut of the Fire Service, the fire was in the accommodation provided for players to sleep.
Those who survived the tragedy were identified as 14-year-old Caua Emanoel Gomes Nuines, Francisco Diogo Bento Alves, 15, and Jonathan Cruz Ventura, 15.
The victims have not been named but are said to include young players staying at Ninho de Urubu, the training ground of Flamengo football club in Rio de Janeiro.
The club’s most prominent former players include World Cup winners Ronaldinho, Bebeto, Zico and Romario.
