A fire outbreak at the Sokoto Old Market, on Friday night, has left half of the market in ruins.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered that the fire started at about 9:30pm after the close of business for the day.
State fire service personnel were deployed to the site to put out the inferno while policeman were also present at the scene to ensure security and checkmate activities of hoodlums.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
