Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has confirmed that the club will be without forwards, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, when they face Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.
The Merseyside outfit will look to overturn a 3-0 deficit without two of their most lethal attacking options on Tuesday.
“They both are not available for tomorrow. It’s a concussion for Mo. He would not be allowed to play. He feels ok but it’s not good enough from a medical point of view. He’s desperate but we cannot do it,” Klopp told a news conference
Egyptian, Salah, was stretchered off the pitch with a head injury in Saturday’s 3-2 Premier League win at Newcastle United after a collision with Newcastle goalkeeper, Martin Dúbravka.
Brazilian, Firmino, has been suffering from a muscular injury and was not included in the squad for Saturday’s game at St James’ Park.
Klopp had confirmed on Friday that midfielder, Naby Keita, had been ruled out of the season with an abductor injury placing his participation in June’s Africa Cup of Nations in jeopardy.
