Managing director and chief executive officer of First Bank of Nigeria Ltd (FirstBank) Adesola Adeduntan and his wife Adenike on Monday celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Adeduntan, 54, shared photos on Instagram to mark the milestone.
Adeduntan began his career in 1994 at Afribank (Nig) Plc. and was posted to the Ibadan main branch of the bank as a graduate trainee. He spent 18 months in this function, working in various areas of banking operations including cash management, clearing, credit risk management, and foreign operations.
He has worked with KPMG, Citibank Nigeria Limited, Africa Finance Corporation among others.
While with Arthur Andersen, he qualified as a chartered accountant in 2000.

On January 4, 2016, Adeduntan resumed work as MD/CEO of FirstBank and its commercial banking subsidiaries, succeeding Bisi Onasanya.
On April 28, 2021, he was removed as MD/CEO of the bank by its board of directors. However, he was reinstated by the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on April 29, a day after he was removed by the board. In the same announcement reinstating Adeduntan, the CBN governor sacked the entire board of directors of FBN Holdings Plc and its subsidiary First Bank of Nigeria Ltd citing insider abuse, insider credit and breakdown of corporate governance as the reason.
