FirstBank of Nigeria on Wednesday confirmed the quizzing of its Executive Director, Dauda Lawal, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with investigations of former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
A statement from the bank made available to Qed.ng reads: “An Executive Director of FirstBank Mr. Dauda Lawal was invited by the EFCC to assist with the ongoing investigations into sums allegedly received from the former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke. As a law abiding citizen, Mr. Lawal is cooperating fully with the authorities.
“FirstBank will issue an official statement on this matter in due course.”
