Kano State Ministry of Health has confirmed five new deaths in the state arising from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The ministry tweeted early Thursday as it announced that the number of COVID-19-related deaths was now 13.
It said: “Update as of 12:02am 7th May 2020. 30 new cases of #COVID19Kano cases confirmed. Total confirmed cases in @KanostateNg are now 427.
“3 additional #COVID19Kano patients were successfully discharged. 5 #COVID19Kano deaths were recorded.”
Kano’s new 30 cases were part of 195 announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night.
Nigeria now has 3,145 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
