- The First Lady
For a subtle comedy and never ending drama, do not forget to choose The First Lady, which, incidentally, is premiering in London today.
The Omoni Oboli produced movie tells a classic Cinderella story where a prostitute, Michelle, is stuck in a world she could not escape from. Her hope that one day a Prince Charming would rescue her from it all, seems lost, until events change.
Omoni stars alongside Alexx Ekubo, Joseph Benjamin and Chinedu Ikedieze in the new flick.
- Road to Yesterday
Road to Yesterday is a perfect fit if you are going to the movies with your partner.
Directed by Ishaya Bako, the movie is a love story about a couple desperate to mend their marriage on a road trip to a relative’s funeral.
However when memories and secrets from the past are revealed, a lot more is at stake than their relationship.
Road to Yesterday which was produced by Nollywood sweetheart, Genevieve Nnaji, also stars British actor, Oris Erhuero, Majid Michel, Chioma ‘Chigul’ Omeruah and Ebele Okaro.
Genevieve is enough reason to see this one.
- Taxi Driver (Oko Ashewo)
If you are interested in comedy, Taxi Driver (Oko Ashewo) is the must see movie.
The hilarious comedy drama tells the story of how Adigun (Femi Jacobs) a taxi driver copes with dealing with the multitude of odd characters he comes across. On the job, he meets Delia (Ijeoma Grace Agu) the queen prostitute, Kakanfo (Hafiz Oyetoro) the unseen vigilante, the notorious assassins ‘three wise men’, the Godfather, Baba Mistura and many more interesting characters that ply their trade in Lagos at night.
The 93-minute long flick will definitely give you your money’s worth
- Victims
Victims promises to bring you to tears.
Produced by Mercy Aigbe, the emotional movie which stars Olu Jacobs, Saheed Balogun, Fathia Balogun, Juliet Ibrahim and Funsho Adeolu describes the tribulations of a woman from her prime to full blown womanhood.
It was directed by Lancelot Oduah.
- The Last Three Digits
The Last Three Digits has drama, intrigue, comedy and suspense.
The story line goes: How much trouble can one get into for dialling a wrong number? To what length would a man go to find his lost love? The story of The Last Three Digits centres on a young man (Alex) and his search for Audrey, his long lost love. He met her for a very brief moment but unfortunately she gave him incomplete phone digits. In desperation, Alex begins to input random three digits, a spree that saw him calling all kinds of people, in all parts of the world.
Directed by Moses Inwang the movie stars Nonso Diobi, Dr Sid, Padita Agu and rapper, M.I.
