Lagos’ soft underbelly was once again exposed on Saturday as many areas in the state were flooded following heavy rainfall.
Motorists were trapped on flooded roads while some people moved out of their homes because of the deluge.
QED.ng recalls that the state government had earlier warned residents in areas like Ajegunle, Owode-Onirin, Owode-Elede, Kuramo Beach, Alpha Beach, Okun Ajah, Mende-Maryland, Ijora-Badia, Iwaya and others susceptible to flooding to relocate immediately.
A dedicated telephone number, 08099183777, was also provided for Lagosians to notify the government whenever they notice flood related issues in their streets, neighbourhood and highways.
The telephone line is strictly for Short Message Service (SMS) and WHATSAPP.
