Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama has tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Mr Onyeama announced this via a tweet on Sunday, adding that he was heading to an undisclosed health facility for isolation.
“Did my fourth Covid-19 test yesterday at the first sign of a throat irritation and unfortunately this time it came back positive. That is life! Win some lose some. Heading for isolation in a health facility and praying for the best,” he wrote.
Onyeama becomes the latest high-profile government official to be diagnosed with COVID-19.
Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi had in the past tested positive for coronavirus.
