Pop queen, Beyonce, was in her element on Saturday with the surprise release of a new single and video titled ‘Formation’.
The new song addresses black culture and police brutality – a major problem in the United States of America.
With ‘Formation’, Queen Bey, who has not released a song in over a year, takes on rumours about her beliefs, her marriage, and her daughter in the new song.
She owns her blackness and evokes the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina while endorsing the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
In addition, her daughter, Blue Ivy makes an adorable cameo appearance in the racy video.
The song comes with explicit lyrics and addictive pop rhythm.
Add that to the sexually and politically charged images in the video and you will understand why fans and celebrities have joined the #Formation hashtag on Twitter
