PR firm BHM has called for financial assistance for its former employee Amanda Williams who is battling cancer.
A statement by the firm on Friday said Williams was a member of its talent and material management team from April 2015 to April 2016.
“After BHM, Amanda pursued a career in tech and later founded her own company, inspired by the desire to hire more women into tech roles,” the statement reads.
“A few years ago, Amanda was diagnosed with Neurofibrosarcoma, a form of malignant cancer of the connective tissue surrounding nerves. This has taken a toll on her wellbeing and left her bedridden.
“After series of surgeries and chemotherapy, Amanda will need an additional $15,000 for the next set of treatments.
“BHM is committed to supporting her financially and otherwise through this period.
“And we’re calling on you, dear friends, to join us in helping Amanda to keep fighting, by contributing to the fund for her medical bills.”
A GoFundMe account created on January 4, 2021 has generated $985 out of $15,000 goal as of Friday, January 15.
Born June 16, 1992, Williams was first diagnosed with Neurofibrosarcoma on her left leg and treated in 2014.
