Former Chelsea team doctor, Eva Carneiro, will Thursday take up at her first appointment since leaving the London club.
The Gibraltarian, who married polar explorer, Jason De Carteret, on November 11 last year, has returned to the British territory where she was born to start work at a specialist clinic.
An announcement on the Gibraltar Specialist Medical Clinic website confirms Eva will be joining their team on March 31.
“As Sports Medicine and Exercise Medicine Consultant Doctor Eva specialises in the treatment of athletes and other physically active individuals.
“Sports and Exercise medicine physicians have extensive education in musculoskeletal medicine.
“She is able to treat injuries such as muscle, ligament, tendon and bone problems, but may also treat chronic illnesses that can affect physical performance, such as asthma and diabetes.
“Dr Carneiro will also advise on managing and preventing injuries, Sports and exercise nutrition, supplementation and performance enhancement.”
She has told her new employers she will not be talking to the press about her new role.
The 42-year-old was dropped from Chelsea first-team duties after then manager, Jose Mourinho, criticised her and the first-team physio, Jon Fearn, for going on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard on the opening day of the season.
Mourinho was sacked as Chelsea in December following a nightmarish campaign by the defending English champions.
Carneiro is locked in an employment battle with Chelsea, having not agreed personal damages with either Mourinho or the club.
She was seen in a football stadium for the first time since the row with Mourinho started on Tuesday night to watch Gibraltar suffer a 5-0 home defeat by Latvia.
The woman Mourinho labelled ‘naive’ was a guest of her hometown’s Football Association for the international friendly at the 5,000-seat Victoria Stadium.
