Former Delta State commissioner for technical education Joan Mrakpor has been released by her captors.
Mrakpor, a former member of the House of Representatives, was kidnapped on July 30 by gunmen at her church in Asaba, Delta State capital.
Delta State Police Command confirmed her release on Saturday.
Delta Police public relations officer Bright Edafe said she was released on Friday night.
He said, “Yes, she was released last night.”
Sahara Reporters quoted a source on Thursday who claimed the kidnappers demanded N1 billion. The police said they were not aware of it.
