Former general overseer (GO) of the Foursquare Gospel Church Dr. Wilson Badejo was buried on Friday after a funeral service at the University of Lagos.
Badejo, who led the Foursquare Church from 1999 to 2009, died on August 7 at the age of 74.
Speaking while delivering the burial sermon, former Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) President Rev. Felix Omobude urged Nigerians to live a life that would positively affect others for a better society.
According to him, such lifestyle will advance humanity and check bad blood and crisis in society.
Omobude, who is the general superintendent of Gospel Light International Ministry, said life’s journey was like a candle that starts burning away from birth.
He described Badejo as a light that could not be hidden right from his youth days when he embraced Christ and remained steadfast till the end.
“Badejo that we celebrate today worked round the clock to bring joy to others in various ways.
“As if he knew that the time is short, he was in a hurry to meet up with the various feats he accomplished before leaving for good.
“If every one of us can emulate his lifestyle and pursue things that will make others happy, the society will be close to the plan of God for it and will be devoid of crisis,” Omobude said.
Also speaking at the event, Rev. Sam Aboyeji of the Foursquare Gospel Church said Badejo’s mission was infectious.
He said that the late preacher’s good works have outlived him and that the church and the entire body of Christ would miss him.
