A former technical director of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Kashimawo Laloko has died, his family has announced.
The veteran coach died Sunday at Sacred Hearts Catholic Hospital, Abeokuta.
He was aged 76.
One of Laloko’s many contributions to Nigerian football was the founding in 1992 of what later became the Pepsi Football Academy,
The academy nurtured many football talents in Nigeria including Mikel Obi, Osaze Odemwingie, Sunday Mba, Elderson Echejile, Joseph Akpala and Yinka Adedeji.
He also coached Stationery Stores Football Club of Lagos.
Laloko also had a stint as the national team coach of The Gambia.
