Former Rivers State governorship candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) Sobomabo Jackrich has been abducted at his residence in Usokun, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers.
QEDNG learnt that Mr Jackrich, a former militant, was taken captive by gunmen dressed in military uniform on Monday morning.
According to Jackrich’s media aide Soibibo Sokari, two of the politician’s loyalists were killed when the gunmen raided the house around 3am on Monday.

Sokari said their remains were taken away along with Jackrich who was granted amnesty by the late former President Umar Yar’Adua.
“Two persons were killed, and their bodies were carted away along with him. We are still following up on the incident to get more details,” Sokari said.
Spokesperson for Rivers Police Command Grace Iringe-Koko told PUNCH, “It is not kidnapping. He is with some security personnel. That is all I can say for now.”
