Olusola David-Borha has been appointed chairman of the board of Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc with effect from Thursday, September 26, 2024.
In a statement, the company’s secretary Chidi Okezie said her appointment follows all regulatory approvals after the retirement of Basil Omiyi as chairman in May 2024.
“The Board of Directors (“the Board”) of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC (the Company) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Olusola David-Borha as Chairman of the Board with effect from 26 September 2024 following the receipt of all required regulatory approvals,” the statement said.
The board noted that it is confident that her leadership would be instrumental in driving the growth strategy of Stanbic IBTC Group.
Mrs David-Borha earlier served as chief executive officer of Standard Bank, Africa Regions. Prior to that, she was chief executive officer of Stanbic IBTC Holdings and Stanbic IBTC Bank.
She has had an extensive career in the financial services industry, spanning over 35 years. Her executive educational experience includes advanced management programme of Harvard Business School and the global CEO programme of CEIBS, Wharton and IESE.
David-Borha is an honorary senior member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and winner of the 2016 CNBC African Woman of the Year Award.
