Former managing director of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Tanzania, Kingsley Ulinfun, has announced he is joining the race to succeed Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State.
Mr Ulinfun disclosed his ambition during a recent meeting with his supporters in Benin, saying he would be contesting for the Labour Party’s ticket.
The banker said his unblemished 30-year experience in the financial sector speaks volumes of his plans for the state.
He noted that if given the party’s ticket and he emerged winner at the poll, his policies would largely be on the LP’s ideology of social democracy for the overall betterment of the people.
Ulinfun also pledged economic opportunities and business support through the provision of a N5 million grant each to 2,500 youths and women.
He said, “With your support, I will give N5m grants to 2,500 youths and women every year. They will in turn create 50,000 jobs for themselves.
