Four officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ondo State were on Sunday shot dead by suspected gunmen.
The NDLEA officials were on duty at a checkpoint near Ifon in Ose Local Government Area of the state when the incident occurred.
Their bodies were reportedly found by some farmers on their way from the farm along the checkpoint in Ikaro, near Iron.
Ondo State NDLEA Commander, Haruna Gagara, confirmed the incident on Monday.
Mr Gagara assured that the agency had begun investigation into the incident.
He also said that operatives of the federal agency had visited the crime scene, in collaboration with other security agencies, to evacuate the corpses and look out for on-the-scene clues to the perpetrators.
