Actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has replied those criticising her lengthy message to her colleague Funke Akindele.
The Malaika producer extended what appears to be a hand of friendship to Funke in an Instagram post on Sunday in which she spoke about their rivalry.
She recalled that their rivalry began in the Yoruba movie industry and they carried it over to the Nigerian-English cinema when they crossover to Nollywood.
The mother of one, however, said age and wisdom have made her realise that they can compete without being negatively competitive.
The message was received with mixed reactions as many opined that Funke was never in competition with Toyin while others faulted the actress for declaring herself number one after Funke migrated to the English-speaking part of the movie industry.
Responding in an Instagram post on Monday, Toyin urged her critics to stop drowning in negativity, adding that she is at peace.
“Free yourself from all the negativity that is drowning you. I am at peace,” she wrote.
