The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday released blogger, Abubakar Usman, who the agency accused of cyber stalking.
Usman’s arrest on Monday came after he published a story considered critical of EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu.
Sympathisers launched a #FreeAbusidiq online campaign in solidarity with the man critics accuse of being a rabid supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a series of tweets after his release, Usman thanked all those who spoke against his detention while vowing to pursue “all legal and constitutionally established avenues to ensure that this does not repeat itself.”
While admitting that he fought for the enthronement of the Buhari administration, he lamented that occurrences like his detention are not what he and million others bargained for.
