Pop musician Small Doctor has recalled how his friends mocked him when he announced Agege Stadium as the venue for his Omo Better Concert.
Speaking in a report published in Vanguard on Thursday, the 22-year-old said his friends did not believe it was possible to host the concert at the chosen venue.
“When I picked Agege Stadium as the venue for Omo Better Concert which was announced in less than a month to the date, my friends and people around me thought it was a joke.
“Nobody believed it will be sold out but I believed in God and my fans to make it work; they never let me down,” Small Doctor explained.
Against all odds, the concert held on Sunday, December 9 to critical acclaim by fans of the singer.
It featured performances by artistes like Olamide, Mayorkun, Oritsefemi, DJ Spinall, Reminisce and Vector.
Actress Toyin Abraham and comedian Woli Arole also appeared to the delight of the audience.
The concert was almost marred by Small Doctor’s arrest last week on allegation of illegal possession of firearms and threatening to shoot a police official.
The police ambassador was, however, released on bail by an Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court.
He was warned not to engage in any violent act for the next one year.
